Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with print quality near the seam of a box. I’ve printing boxes before on this machine with no issues, but this time there is a significant issue.
This is the corner with the seam. I’ve tried to research what would cause this issue, but I haven’t had much luck. This issue is also visible on the inside of the box.
Otherwise the print is fine. This is a tricky one to nail down, since I had just printed a box almost identical with no issues (without changing any wall thickness or print settings). It seems to start at the height of the inside floor surface, and continues to the top. The bottom of the box (where the floor is solid) doesn’t have this issue. P2S with Bambu PLA filament, default settings.

Hey which program did you use for creating the object?
Im asking because the slicer seems to have a pretty odd sequence of printing the outer walls + the filling within the walls.
I cant change anything in the settings without the object disappearing
ok dude that is a whole gap infill.
so i would say abrupt speed changes.
that corner is open, that corner doesn’t exist, you can see it while deselecting the outer wall in the sliced preview

@Holzfuss I used FreeCAD.
@Blaster I reprinted this same file, but rotated 90 degrees. This printed fine, so I reprinted it in the original orientation without changing any settings. This also printed fairly well. I wonder if this is something semi random or temperamental in the slicing process that sometimes breaks horribly and sometimes does okay. I did model these walls to be 1/16in thick. Perhaps since they’re not an even multiple of my nozzle diameter (0.4mm) there is potential for issues on these walls?

If that radius makes your wall thickness fluctuate [to less than a walls width] try using Arachne wall generator and see if it doesn’t close that up. It’ll be visible in the preview.
Blaster is right tho, the object seems corrupted.
The walls should be printed in one go. I had issues like that when exporting from tinkercad back then.Since then I used fusion only.
