I relatively new to the 3D Printer world. I have an X1C and have been learning some of the quirks involved with printing. I purchased several rolls of the PETG-HF filament The first roll printed seemingly ok It seemed better than the Basic. Now I was printing a filament box with the green filament and the following happened. So please tell me what I am looking at and what caused the failure.
Here are the specifics that I know of.
For starters I had the filament in a dryer set at 75C for 48 hrs. My shop is at 25-30 %humidity, My AMS showing 10% the printer was set for the new PETG-HF filament. The printer took 9.7 hrs to print.This was the end result
The second one in the print printed better but hairy.
Damp filament seems less likely to be the culprit.
Two things that spring to mind based on the photo.
- Partial clog in or near the hot end
- Something restricting the flow of filament, like a spool jamming in the AMS, restricting how much can come through, with a partial freeing that got stick again.
Based on the pile of seemingly related models in the photo, this model works and at least has worked with this filament.
I would test the second issue first.
Swap to a different filament in a different slot and repeat. If successful, review the green filament and see if there are any issues in it’s movement being able to freely move around the rollers in the AMS.
Move the green to the now confirmed working other slot and print again.
If this works, try a different filament in the suspect slot.
Essentially, you are ruling things out.

Thanks so much for your help, I will try your suggestions. Yes the other filaments printed complete but extremely Hairy for some reason. I figure it has to do with some sort of settings. The second print on the green came out better in the same slot as the first one. I had one color in each slot. They where not clean they had groves in them and hairy. I presume that has something to do with settings.
Yes this model prints fine with all the other types of filament I have used.
