Print order in Bambu Studio

I’m starting to despair over Bambu Studio - or perhaps I’m just overlooking the obvious.
I want to print filament and TD cards on the X2D (using 2 AMS2 units). The base of every card is white, while the height increments of the subsequent layers (height 0.52mm and above) use a different color for each card.
I would like to print the bases for all the cards first. After that, the remaining layers for each object (given sufficient spacing and low height) can be printed in their respective colors.
Unfortunately, I can’t get Bambu Studio to print in this order. Each filament card consists of two objects: a base and a raised section. It either prints the upper layers simultaneously -involving an unnecessary number of filament changes- or prints everything individually from start to finish, including the base for each card.
What am I missing here?

You are asking to start with a By-layer print sequence and then switch to By-object mid-print.

That is not an option in Studio (or OrcaSlicer).

Even if it were an option, I’m not sure it would be significantly more efficient than just printing by object in the first place. What does it save, one color swap back to white? Meanwhile the queued already-printed bases would be waiting and hardening. And they’d still need to be spaced for per-object printing. :person_shrugging:

I’d recommend the obvious… print by object, or individually, or make the typical empty bases with separate color chips.

Thanks to both of you. In that case, I’ll print them in object order. It was worth checking if there was another way, though.
