Print Profile Violation? Flawed Reporting?

Someone correct me if I’m wrong - I was wrong once before. (Sarcasm)

About a year ago I printed a cool model. At the time there was no A1 Mini print profile. So I made one, tested it, and uploaded it. Cool! More accessible model for newer folks.

Skip forward a year later, the original uploader saw his mistake, modified his print profile to support the A1 Mini, then reported my profile as a duplicate, and subsequently, Makerworld removed it and deducted the accrued points.

Obviously this is an oversight in the report review process. I hope someone at @MakerWorld recognizes this, and restores my points and my high quality print profile. It had excellent ratings. And it’s a bit off color to punish someone for following the rules, and helping newer users at the same time. Rule #2 of the print profile community guidelines specifically exhibit my use case as an example for uploading a print profile to make a model compatible with the A1 Mini…

There’s an appeal mechanism present. At the time, your profile was in line with the rules, so during the time original had no support for A1 Mini, your profile was benefit to the author. Your appeal should be successful on grounds of that change.

man, the creator pulled a bit of a move there… like they could have just messaged you and said “Hey, I’ve added an A1 Mini profile, would you mind removing yours?”

Or even just leave it, as Creator Profiles come up first anyway

Another example of why Creators should be able to manage the profiles on their model. A simple Remove would have sufficed, no need for a report or any action, just remove as it’s no longer needed

Agreed, and there were multiple ways that guy could have gone about that. Reporting it was not the best way imo.

UPDATE: I got my points back and Makerworld support admitted they made a mistake. Turns out that it was a backend system change that automatically made the designers model compatible with the A1 Mini. They said this semi-recent feature rollout takes small models and makes them compatible with the mini automatically, without the print profile needing to be modified. They apologized for the oversight and refunded me. I’m happy. However I am NOT happy with how long it took to convince them to actually investigate the issue. I appealed it and was denied. Then opened a support ticket and was denied. I then responded back with a plea that they actually LOOK at the history of my profile, and compare it to my other profiles - I don’t waste my time creating profiles that are useless. They obviously took me seriously for the first time and connected with their technical team to identify the aforementioned issue. I’m satisfied with the end result, I just hope they do better in the future when it comes to listening to people. I’m grateful that this turned out positively.
