While it may seem counterintuitive, the general wisdom is to use glue. Yes, glue increases stiction, but it also acts as a release liner. The glue creates a more brittle contact area, which breaks away more easily. This effect is especially noticeable on a smooth build plate, where the impression is often left behind after removing the model.
