Print Surface pls Help

Hi all,
I’ve had my first printer, a P2S, for two days now.

I’m a complete beginner when it comes to 3D printing, but I really want to learn.

I just printed a headset holder from Maker World, but the surface finish is really bad, as you can see in the picture.

Now I need your help because I don’t know what the problem is. I’ve already done some research online and tried some of the tips, like reducing the speed and heating the nozzle to pierce it with a needle, but unfortunately, that didn’t help.

What kind of seam did you use in the slicer? This looks very much like random seam creation. Every layer is then started at a random location, instead of a single xy location, creating a single seam line.
For large surface prints, random seam is not the best option, unless you like the visual effect.

It’s either a random seam or really wet filament. If you print one of the models that comes on the printer do you see the same issue?

My personal rule number one when running into these types of issues: Dry (and calibrate) the filament. Otherwise, troubleshooting will always have that big question mark over it.

So, I bought the AMS Pro 2 with the 3D printer, so I don’t think it’s due to wet filament if the humidity is at 34%, which should be optimal.

I didn’t have this problem with the models I printed before.

What do you mean by the seam? How can I see it?

How can I see that? Is that it?

I would not consider this optimal. Mine run about 10 percent.

This is the relative air humidity. It gives no indication about the filamemt humidity, only the current storage condition.
For storage, pretty much all filaments are recommended to be stored at <20%.

The problem with new filament is really that it has spent a month or more at sea. The protective bags slow down moisture ingress. But they do not stop it.

I just had this problem on my P2S on my first print yesterday, and I decided to dry my filament (PLA) for ~4 hours in the AMS 2 Pro. Printed after this, and this issue was gone.
