Print/Tower Failures on H2D - Even after rollback

Hi Everyone,

I picked up my H2D back in July and absolutely loved it. For the first couple of months, every single and multicolor print came out nearly perfect with very few issues. But over the last couple of weeks, those same prints have started failing almost every time.

I even rolled back both the firmware and Bambu Studio.

Worth noting: After the rollback, I tried a different file that had been giving me trouble, and it printed flawlessly. But when I went back to this “ghost print” (now on my 6th or 7th attempt), the same failure happened again — even with the older firmware/software.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

  • Ran a High Precision Nozzle Offset Calibration and disabled auto calibration
  • Thoroughly washed the plate with soap, water, and isopropyl alcohol
  • Dried the filament in the AMS overnight
  • Cleaned the nozzles of any buildup

At this point, I’m stuck. It keeps failing on the tower. The hand drawn arrow shows where the tower has been pushed away. Could this be an STL issue? (Although I’ve had similar problems with other files too.)

I did read that there’s a known bug Bambu is working on fixing, but I’m not 100% sure if it’s related to the problems I’m experiencing.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Rollback also gave me a KOD prime tower

If you sure that your filament is dry,

apply the filament change gcode that bambu provided,
enable rib walls for prime tower,

DISABLE skip point.

Then your tower should look normal again.

if this is real, you did the work of bbl and being better than 20-30 guys in a office trying to guess wtf is going on

Bambu added the skip points to absorb the strings, but they also added an ironing process that should be able to iron down the attached filaments. Problem is that ironing doesn’t always work, and it makes it really likely to ooze as leaving the nozzle heated for too long would absolutely cause some oozing even if the filament is dry.

Thanks, I’ll give this a try. In the picture, the issue is that the tower actually got pushed to the side — the arrow shows where it started versus where it ended up. Once the tower shifted, there was nothing left for the filament to land on, so it just strung in midair instead of building on the tower.

This worked!! Thank you so much. I used the code and the print came out perfectly! I also disabled skip and used a rib wall. Worked out great!

Where did they provide this?
