Our luck finally ran out and one of our new H2S printers arrived with broken top glass.
Rather than go through the blame game and wait for a replacement, we figured we’d order new glass and get the machine into service.
Unfortunately, when the glass shattered, it not only littered crumbles of glass throughout the interior (which felt oddly sticky), but powdered glass was stuck to every lubricated surface.
Would the packing process allow for the top glass to be bagged similarly to the door treatment as a precaution to contain the fragments in the event the box is handled too roughly in shipping?
I would personally consider to send it back.
If for some reason you don’t remove all the dust like particles, your guides might pick them up and increase the wear of the guides drastically.
About the packaging of the door, I cant add much, as the plastic laser door has no special protection in the packaging as far as I can remember.
This why I ordered my machine through our local Best Buy for pickup. My theory was that Best Buy probably orders these by the pallet, which should provide better protection than a single heavy machine running through warehouse after warehouse. That, and I get to inspect the box at the store before taking possession.
As it was, the box and its contents were in perfect shape.
