I’m new to 3d printing and recently bought an A1. I’ve been doing alot of printing this last week and feel like i really have the printer dialed in. All of my small prints have come out great.
Having said that i have been having issues with some of the larger/taller prints. Today i tried to print a a bookend, file attached. But as you can see from the pictures at a certain height there is a step in the print where it hasn’t joined properly and looks terrible. I retried another book end and got the same result. Interestingly the fault is at the exact same height as the previous print.
Then i remembered my first print, a poop box having an issue and after i inspected it i found it had a line/artifact at the same height again.
Could there be something wrong with my printer?

time-lapse off but i go in and check camera every now and then.

Same here, and even looks like it happens at the same height as on your printer!
I’m printing this model (707272 because I can’t post links yet) with the second print profile (no logo) using Overture PLA Black. I feel like I have it pretty dialed-in for shorter prints, and even with the default Bambu Test Cube “Primitive” built-into Bambu Studio printed without this issue despite being taller than the failure point. The only settings I changed from the print profile are to use Fuzzy Skin on all faces, with 0.08 Point Distance and 0.05 Thickness. I did manage to print it once with default Fuzzy Skin settings without any issue.
Looking back to one of my first prints, it caused a complete failure once, and a partial failure once (only because I watched it the second time and cancelled the failed portion) on this model (375535) – the smaller clip part failed, and you can see in one of the photos that i just gave up and used two failed half-prints to get it done rather than trying yet again. For this model I just used the default settings from the included print profile, because I hadn’t yet started to experiment with other settings, and I just wanted it to be functional.

The additional layer artifact on the above photo is from some spaghetti that happened from the failed part and got wedged between layers on the main portion.
