I was just looking into options (connection other PC) on my P1S and saw “printing hours 163” WTF ? That’s just impossible, I printed handful of small pieces, I finished only one PETG roll (1kg?) and 3 other PLA didn’t reach even half rolls.
Does it count “on time” ? Maybe I left it on once or twice for a day
Does not count on time. Without knowing the exact amount printed and what was printed at what speed.. impossible to say for sure, but it is entirely possible to be at 160 hours with around 2,5kg printed material. Small pieces take longer than one big simple object.
so as i said, i finished one spool of PETG, and didn’t use even half of 2-3 PLA spools. I don’t see it. 160h is like 1 month working time. And I printed just some evenings. and I think I used ~2kg (2.5kg absolute max). I printed mainly some key caps for myself (experimenting, so sometimes single, sometimes 3-4 at the same time, less that 50 in total, pretty slow, like highest quality for .4mm nozzle)
Id say its still possible. The hour timer counts all the preparations like flow calibrations, purges, bed levelings etc into it. 50 keycaps weight perhaps 150 grams total?, so far off from 2,5 kilos.
and some small functional parts (like 10-20g each). the biggest part - and that’s why PETG dissapeared, was 3 8x9 multiboard panels - each 82.44g - i’ve just checked project, and 8 snaps - another 40g.
You are using terms like “some small parts” and “ hand full”. How many parts did you print and how long was each print job?
If you had a scenario where your printer was errored and paused, with a hot plate waiting for user input, those hours count
