Printing TPU with AMS

I regularly print using TPU with P1S and AMS, with a high degree of success.

I’m currently using Jayo TPU Silk filament, although I have used other generic TPU filaments. I’m using a print profile for Jayo TPU Silk, obtained from the Makerlab web site (I think, sorry my memory not so good).

I’m using a stock 0.4mm nozzle, printing on a BigTreeTech PEI build plate (BIGTREETECH 257MM*257MM Double-Sided Spring Steel Sheet For Bambu Lab – Biqu Equipment).

There’s one problem - if you tell the slicer (device page) that the AMS slot contains TPU, it won’t let you use it. To get around this, use the TPU profile of your choice to slice, but don’t tell the printer what’s in the AMS slot!

Oh and I recommend printing at 50% speed (‘Silent Mode’).

I hope this is helpful.

I refuse to buy ‘Capricorn’ tubing, as I can’t get any guarantee it’s genuine ‘Capricorn’. So easy to make regular PTFE tube with a blue tint and charge 10x £…

I’ve never had a problem printing TPU with regular PTFE tube.

Bambu recommends not using this filament in the ams because it jams up the gears so I would not recommend performing the action of putting tpu in your ams.
