Printing with Sunlu PETG-CF

Anybody printing with Sunlu PETG-CF black filament and if so, is your AUX part fan running during the print? I’ve been trying to print using this filament and I can’t get anything to completely print without failing at some point. I’ve tried multiple nozzle temperatures. I’ve tried printing with the cover off and door open. It starts out good for the first 10 or 20 layers and then just goes crazy on my last print. I turned the AUX part fan on to 40% and it cleaned the print up, but I’m worried about having adhesion problems with the part fan on being that it wasn’t in the filament settings to begin with.

I have a P1S I’m currently using a .4 hardened nozzle with harden gears. I have a temperature sensor in the chamber and it was 42’ with the lid off. Nozzle temp 255’ and 260’ and bed temp 60’
The first two pictures are my third attempt and so far the cleanest the others were unrecognizable. I’ve done both manual calibrations and even lowered the max vol speed from 14 to 8mm/s.


This is my latest attempt with the AUX part cooling fan on at 40%. I manually turned it on when I saw the print beginning to fail, hoping it might make some difference you can see immediately started printing better so my question is why does Bambi slicer not turn the part cooling fan on and if anyone out there is also printing with this filament do you need to use the AUX part cooling fan? Thank you.

Hello! I printed about half a kilogram with this plastic and had no problems whatsoever!
Nozzle temperature during printing - 260.
Volume flow rate 11.5
Fans 5%/30s - 40%-6s
AUX fan - 20 %

Printed 1 kg today without any problems. It seems you have to dry the filament before using.

Thank you for sharing your settings. My filament was drying for 3 days so I know it’s not that. I’m pretty sure I need the part fan running maybe even chamber fan too. I will post back once I get a chance to print again with the results and settings. Thanks again for the responses.

Nope, but you can. This material doesn’t warp anything. But is not recommended.
PETG shrinks when it is blown onto it during printing. The carbon prevents this.

Was your chamber fan running the one that exhausts out the back? Mine was on automatically.

You should play with temperatures for better results. I’m printing between 245 degrees and 250 degrees (depending on the component) and 22 mm3/s (E3D Obxidian). Printed this raiser for Sunlu S2 in 20 hours. It’s really nice stuff.

Okay so first thank you to everyone for spending your time and sharing your experience. I have done a few successful prints and wanted to share what worker for me. These are my specs
-Sunlu PETG-CF Black
-P1S with external filament dryer
-.4mm nozzle
-.20mm quality (I was to impatient to wait)
-Top off chamber door closed and temperature of chamber less than 102F anything more and I got issues.
-22mm/s Max Vol speed (was surprised that worked but it did)
-Aux part cooling fan 20%
-Chamber set to 70% as per Generic PETG-CF G code done automatically.

My issue seemed to be chamber temp. I do live in Hawaii and its 85F in my room to begin with.
