Problem with filament feeding

I just purchased a new PS2 with the AMS and it won’t feed the filament. I set everything up but I keep getting a stating the AMS failed to send out filament and to cut the ends straight. I’ve cut the ends straight, checked the tubes, cut the ends not straight (out of desperation) and I keep getting the same error message. Does anyone know what the problem is? I’m using Bambu Labs PLA Basic. I’ve tried positions 1 and 2 with 2 different colors.

How long are the PTFE tubes? Sometimes there is too much friction. Is the tube in a weird angle? That also causes a lot of friction which makes it impossible for the ams to load the filament. A trick i like using is to feed the filament manually, because if you can’t, then the ams also won’t, but if you can (easily), and it gives error, it may be an ams motor error.

Add some pictures too, so we know what we’re looking at. Have you tried using the external port instead of the AMS to see if the filament is being pulled correctly by the print hear gears?

I just tried the external port and it’s now printing. I had to put a lot of force on the external filament inside the tube because it kept saying it wasn’t in far enough but then it finally worked. After this finishes I’m try the AMS again and attach a few pictures. On a good note from what I can see the test piece looks pretty nice. Appreciate the feedback. Here’s a picture of the error.

I also just had this error with the external filament so I moved the reel a little bit and it finished printing.

Ok the AMS won’t feed. If I press down on the button that I’m pointing to I can feed the filament all the way to the nozzle but when it tries to print it backs the spool up a little bit and then throws the error again. If I don’t press down on the button I can feel the filament stop at the back of the AMS and not go any further. Here’s a picture of the back also. The print from the external spool turned out great. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I submitted a ticket this morning so we’ll see what happens. Not being able to talk to someone directly in tech support is a little frustrating.

There should be some resistance when you push the filament to the toolhead, but it should not require a lot of force. I’d pull the PTFE tubes from the printer and inspect the tubes themselves and their connections, they need to be snugged in their places. Also, no sharp bends on these tubes.

Thanks for the help. I’ve went over everything a couple times now and it keep showing the same error. Hopefully Bambu gets with me fairly soon so I can get this resolved. I’m printing from the external spool and the overall quality looks pretty impressive so far.

Had the same issue. Turned out one of the filament broke in the tube. Had to take all the tubing out.

It looks like that’s my next step but it hasn’t worked since I hooked it up. I received a response on my support ticket and they want me to disassemble the internal hub unit and see if anything’s damaged or any other issues. I should have a better idea in the next couple of hours. Thanks for your input.

Resolved!

I started to disassemble the unit and I found the ribbon cable on the right not fully plugged in. I started to unplug the cable on the left and when my hand hit the cable on the right the cable just flopped around. At this point I decided to put it back together and try it out and now it works properly. I appreciate the feedback/suggestions from everyone and the quick response from Bambu.

I’ve been having success with my Bambu Lab P2S 3D Printer, but Thursday was trying, prints kept stopping due to an “Extruder Motor Overload” fixed that this morning, now the filament won’t feed from the AMS or the External. I’m not very happy with how one problem leads to another, and there is no live support.
