Problem with H2D, stringing with PLA and PETG-CF

I am trying to print https://makerworld.com/en/models/1190247-flip-calendar?from=search#profileId-1201914 (Flip Calendar).

I used the HT and the AMS 2 to dry PLA and PETG-CF for 12 hours. Both of them show a hydro value of ~12%. So, in my layman’s mind, this is pretty darn dry right now.

The H2D is equiped with the HF nozzles 0.4 (i know. why?) and is calibrated with the calibration sheet.

Printing with PLA i get the following result:

With PETG-CF it looks a bit worse, but pretty much the same problem.

I am pretty sure, it’s not wetness. So what can this be? Any hint welcome.

Run the Auto Bed Leveling including enabled High-temperature Bed Leveling in Setting > Calibration > Print Calibration.

Done that. Reprinted. Output looks just as bad.

So that’s not it.

Can you clarify:

  • Are the filaments calibrated?
  • You´re using the MW profile print settings and layout?
  • What part is shown in the photo?
  • the filaments are BamubLabs and I am using the print profiles from Bambu
  • Downloaded the MW project and that profile. Which of course got auto adjusted as i am using an H2D
  • that’s object 1 on plate 1

Not sure if it matters.

I understand that the nozzle will be detected as HF and reflects on the Bambu Studio main page. Check if it is also updated accordingly in the filament? Direct Drive Standard to Direct Drive High Flow.

I checked the DirectDrive setting, and iwas standard, not high. Changed this, no effects.

I did a lot of print testing and this is nozzle dependant. I dried all filaments another 12 hours, and then just printed with the same filament in the right nozzle, and then in the left nozzle.

The left nozzle prints perfectly, as expected. The right nozzle, no matter what filament i choose (in the picture it is PLA Matte in Red) exhibits this problem. I will exchange the nozzle to see if that fixes it.


So, I replaced the nozzle and the current print is looking good so far.

Shouldn’t a HF nozzle last time a bit longer than 300h?

Yes, certainly.
Now, they may be defective, have been damaged over usage, etc…
Did you confirm that it was he nozzle? i.e. did the print end looking good?

Yes. Print looks perfect now.

have you done a cold pull?

(At least right now) I’m somewhat jaded on my HF nozzles… Not worth the money.

@Cylonmode I would agree with that assessment so far. Not really any significant time savings that i have observed.

The nozzle i replaced had a big flat pile of filament stuck at the bottom, that was probably the reason. I am going to try to clean it and see if the nozzle still works.

Hello everyone! I’m printing this model: Resting Pot - Mini Succulent Planter, using PETG filament with the settings specified in the model. It prints well when I make one at a time, but when I try printing two, I get this result (see photo). The errors always appear in the same spot—I’ve moved and rotated the models on the bed, but it still turns out like this. The filament is dry, and single prints come out fine. What could be causing this? Any advice, please?

H2D, PETG HF, anyone know for sure what I should target first? Dry material, change the retraction settings. Does the image scream something? Love to learn. Thanks

oops, not allowing the image to show. but there are lots of maybe whiskers, or short strings coming off the flat surface sides.
