This is how the back of the prime tower looks like. It manages to adhere to the build plate, but doesn’t really stick to it, and the support itself simply doesn’t stick at all. It gets wiped away with the next line printed to it. I even switched the power off, to test the distance to the build plate, and I can swipe a 0.4 mm gauge through with no real resistance. Filament is Bambu PLA-Aero. Any idea how to fix this?
PLA-Aero is not the easiest filament to print. It’s expansion is based on the printing temperature.
Did you tune your filament flow properly?
They advise a certain flow at a certain temperature, but that is not always the exact match.
Might be that this is your issue here.
I’m printing with LW-PLA since about a year. This is the first time I ran into this problem. Just finished a big part yesterday. No problem. Now this problem popped up.

Is this the only time, you have this issue, or can you repeat this from now on?
Only think I could imagine with the given info then, is that a dirty or a not properly fixed nozzle might be causing this. A simple thing to check.
It happens every time. I did not try to print with a different filament. I’ve already checked both nozzles. All looks fine.

I just switched from an X1C to the H2C.
Would be good to do some small tests with some standard filament like PLA or PETG, and do for instance a first layer test to see if you really have an offset problem.
With foaming filaments, you just have an extra factor influencing your results.
You can edit the Z-offset i the printers start gcode, but to my opinion, that is not a proper solution. You really need to figure out if this is the printer, that is causing this.
Okay. I think I pinned it down to an issue with the right nozzle.
I switched the PLA-Aero to the left nozzle, started a test print, and it worked.
So I created a test object to check, if the support filament sticks to the filament and prime tower. And it failed. The PVA does not stick o the PLA. I can easily peel it off.
So, it seems, the right nozzle fails to be set on the z-axis.
Interesting. I would have hoped that the machine calibration processes would have calculated and factored in differential Z height. FWIW, my right nozzle eddy sensor started playing up then eventually failed and needed replacement. Let us know if you learn more about this.
I have printed 10kg of ASA Aero since December last year, I also print a lot of PLA Aero for drone parts.
ASA Aero behaves really different than PLA Aero so you can’t really compare them. I print all kinds of models with my setup but printing for example Eclipson models with ASA Aero is not straightforward.
It’s also more or less impossible to do a normal PA calibration and for Eclipson as an example they recommend to turn it off completely. Flow ratio is as with all foaming filaments dependent on the nozzle temperature. ASA Aero is just as sensitive as normal ASA when it comes to warping so just keep that in mind, warping foaming ASA Aero will instantly show as a problem.
You might want to check if the screws that hold the heater block in place are fully tightened. I had to tighten mine twice on both nozzles.
It looks like this solved my problem.
I doubt they were loose, because the nozzle didn’t move a bit while touching. But I was actually able to turn one of the screws about 5 to 10 degrees. Not that much, but it seems the problem is gone.
Keep in mind that they may come loose over time. The constant thermal expansion triggers them to come loose again.
Just checked mine and the left one was okay but the right one could be tightened again.
