It does not seem like all the colors Bambu makes are in the color library for manual selection. If you are using Bambu filament, sure it works, but sometimes I use other filament(s) because either the Bambu store was out, or they don’t sell the type of filament I need for my project. Regardless, we need the capability to select any color, just like you can do from the PC application.
That’s a signing oracle, i.e. as powerful as having the private key.
And it means any filament manufacturer can just generate the signature once per color and then infinitely clone it. Bambu earns more from exclusively selling their own NFC tagged filament.
It would be nice if they added an RFID reader to the mobile app Bambu Handy, then hold the filament spool near the phone to be told the type, colour and other filament information.
Most phones have RFID chips, all currently supported iPhones, for example.

This will never happen because this is how they try to lock people into their ecosystem, they buy filament from other manufacturers rename it, slap a dumb rfid tag on it and sell you into their spool system as well…then upcharge a buttload for it…
They increased the filament prices dramaticly as soon as they heard about tariffs even BEFORE they took effect, and also DOUBLED the amount you have to buy to get free shipping…this is gouging at its finest and taking advantage of its customers. Even when the tariffs were stopped, or removed they will NEVER lower their prices again unless people stop buying it and start buying AFFORDABLE filament from MANY other manufacturers, which I just did myself…I spent a LOT of money on my P1S and building a collection of all their filaments, and bam they raise the price of Bulk filament from 13.99 to 17.99 immediately without hesitation, even when they ARE making bank off how popular they are already…this is not going to fly with people…IF people realize they can get dirt cheap filament from SUNLU(JAYO is the same company and cheaper then SUNLU too!) or eSun, Overture, many MANY other awesome brands! Then they will continue to gouge and do this to people!
They also like to REALLY slow down the other filament brand profiles to almost HALF the speed to get people to buy their Brand…Just use their Profile and change your print temp and bed temp to what the filament your using is and BAM you get amazing FAST prints with basicly any filament…so far it worked for me using PLAPETG and TPU!
I didnt mind paying a couple extra bucks for the rfid tag, but 7-10$ for a UNACCURATE filament level tag reasing? NO THANK YOU! I will glady go buy SUNLU for 11-13$ a spool on amazon and get ONE TO TWO DAY SHIPPING FOR FREE with ANY quanitity!!!
Kinda sad they have to rip people off this much though! I hope this helps a LOT of people to break away from their gouging prices!!
