I had been using grid since that was the default and default on my old printer but recently tried gyroid and I think it’s a huge improvement. I hadn’t realized the bit about the nozzle whacking existing filament and making bumps where the lines cross.
Gyroid might not be strongest depending on orientation but it prints smooth and the extruder just sashays back and forth. The printer is much quieter in those sections.
Such a small but big thing. I hadn’t paid much attention to infill types except in seeing the strength of grid and triangle. Good to know gyroid isn’t shabby either. Thanks for the discussion here!
