Sometimes (probably something like one in five prints) my purge bin chute clogs at the top opening because the purged bits just stick to the top somehow and don’t roll down at all. If I nudge them with my finger, they roll down, so they’re not incredibly melted on or anything.
Is there a setting I can change to improve this, or any accessory I could print?
This happens with both PLA and PETG from Bambu, Sunlu, eSun, and Tinmorry.
The only recommendation I have seen, is to line the chute with aluminum tape. The tape they use in air conditioning duct work. Also I have seen kapton tape recommended
I may try adding a vibration motor on the back of the chute, operated by a push button.
Kapton tape is a good idea, I might give that a shot.
Sometimes stuff seems to be stuck on the scraper? element at the front of the chute too and I’m not sure what to do about that…
Clean the top edge (metal), put some silicone lube between two fingers and rub the lube along the edge. Very very little lube.
I couldn’t find my tape, so I’ll give this a shot too and come back to mark it as the solution if it works for a few days! Thanks – didn’t think about trying lube.
Wiping a bit of silicone oil with a cloth on the entire chute surface might reduce the sticking to the surface also.
Wiping the top edge had some junk sticking to the chute, and then wiping the whole chute down with lubricant really did the trick.

Thank you for testing and sharing your experiences. I noticed the same problem. Since I wasn’t sure if the nozzle cleaning would still work, I paused the printing and carefully tried to remove the clogged filament residue with tweezers. Since the pause position is directly above the purge bin, this was not so easy.
Did you use silicone for lubrication?
