Hello,
I have been trying to print small models that are sliced object by object. Unfortunately, when switching from ‘By Layer’ to ‘By Object’, the cleaning tower is not printed. Why is that? Is there an alternative way to clean the nozzle?
Hello,

The issue is the complexity it increases.
Print by layer
One or more models with each layer being added uniformly to all models and the prime tower at the same time. A constant z-axis position.
Print by object
Each model is printed in turn, two models, two z-axis positions. If there were two models, each with a prime tower, you have two z-axis positions in four places with a much increased risk of knocking the models or prime towers over.
Print by object is designed to:
It is a convenience feature rather than a replacement for print by layer. The constraints of dealing with the print head size while moving around a build plate and changes in the z-axis making impact possible increases complexity and compromises are made.
If you have a model with colour changes within a layer another model with different colour changes within a layer you are best using the traditional print by layer and doing each individually.
