Purged filament falls on the wrong side of the Purge Wiper

When purging at a filament change, my purge wiper has begun flinging the poops towards the printer, instead of dropping them away from it. I’ve reduced the purge volume very significantly, checked the purge wiper, replaced the purge wiper with a new one, followed all the suggested adjustments in the Bambu wiki, and it’s still doing it. The wiper blade mechanism operates smoothly, and is fully engaged, so the shim I’ve seen some people use wouldn’t fix this issue.

I read some mention of putting PTFE on the wiper blade, so I put a little 5mm piece in the gap for the nozzle, and the purged filament still falls to the inside, but doesn’t fling as far, and it sticks to the nozzle less frequently, so it isn’t landing on the print plate (or being dragged there) as often. But it is still sliding under the bed, and I’ve found poops in the track beneath, so it’s still very concerning.

I’m using an A1, with AMS Lite, Sunlu Silk PLA and Bambu matte PLA.

I can’t figure out why the nozzle isn’t centered over the purge wiper – it seems like that extra 5mm or so might make a difference, but everything is in its designed position, so far as I can tell.

Update on this, in case anyone cares… the solution was two part, possibly four.

First, I lowered the Max for the recommended temperature on all my filaments. To purge, the printer raises the nozzle to that temp, which caused the gold to swell up and stick to the side of the nozzle. Once it’s stuck to the nozzle, it leaves residue and the other filaments start sticking as well and it becomes a cascade of bad purges.

Second, I increased the purge volume for the gold. It seems counter-intuitive, since the problem begins with the gold swelling up, but adding more weight to the purge helps it sweep out away from the print bed, instead of flopping over and falling on it.

Two other things that help, but to a lesser extent:

I added some PTFE paint to help prevent things from sticking to the nozzle.

I printed this:A1 Nozzle Purge Wiper and Front Poop Deflector - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld and it actually wipe the nozzle as it passes out from the the purge wiper (which actually just pushes away purge filament). The printed piece itself is a hazard for sticky hot plastic, so I covered the at-risk parts of it with PTFE tape, so nothing sticks, and it works great.
