I’m new here and I have a question. I recently uploaded my Cyberbrick Telehandler model. Now I have created an extension that adds more functions. However, I also need to change two parts of the already uploaded model.
Should I create a completely new listing for this, or would it be better to make a changelog and publish it as a V2 of the original model?

How significant are the modifications? That’s what I would base the decision on.
Can you just reprint like 20% of the parts and use the old ones for the rest? If no, I lean towards a new upload.
Do you losses any features by going with the new one? If yes, I lean towards a new upload.
Did you have engagement on the current one, and are some of the comments down there helpful even for the new one? If yes, then I lean towards the same listing, new version.
Assuming it is an Exclusive model, the rules on this are defined.
You are meant to update the original model.
You would require significant changes to warrant creating a new entry separate from the original.
They state they reserve the right to remove any version updates from the Exclusive program.
Something like a CyberBrick model is more than a trinket; BL believes they (and other large models) should evolve to build on the original audience.
Based only on the information you shared:
If you are making a companion, not changes, think of a trailer for a car, I would say the trailer is a new model, linking each to the other.

I have designed a new boom. The old one will remain as the standard version, and the new boom with more functions would be the “Pro” version. The chassis only needs a small modification to make space for more cables.
Can I simply overwrite the chassis file in the new version and add a changelog entry for it?
Also, if I create a bucket instead of the forks, can I publish the bucket as a separate model?
Personal opinion - hate when new V2, V3 designs are created. If you improve design, update main design and add change log, especially because MW can inform people who downloaded your design that there are updates.
Addons to the design, especially if they are optional - place them as separate designs. Gather them in custom collection, place link to collection in main design description so you wont need to update main design every time you add new item (especially important for cyberbrick designs)
No matter what you will be hit with manual design review delay
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience and advice. I agree it makes more sense to keep improvements within the main design and use the change log so people get notified automatically. For optional add-ons I’ll go with separate models and link them together in a collection – that seems like the cleanest way, especially for Cyberbrick. With the Cyberbrick app this also makes things much clearer and easier to navigate. Really appreciate the tip!
While we are on the subject of the ‘exclusive’ license, can a model be removed from that license? It seems that we can’t even post updates or modifications on this site, period, with such a license. Seems to be this will kill innovation.
Yes, when the minimum period has been reached.
If you opted for the 90 day window, you cannot remove it until that closes, the same with the shorter window.
Nothing is stopping you from editing the model, changing photos, removing, adding or replacing profiles or any other changes.
The only restriction is the lock-in period it must remain available as an exclusive.
It is the price for the extra points rewarded to it.
I thought this was decent advice when I first offered it.

So, I can modify the model and upload it to this site? If so, that is great. I have created a cyberbrick TukTuk from another member’s model and I used an ‘exclusive’ chassis model to make it work. I really would like to upload this.
This is new information and changes things.
You can’t use someone else’s model unless the licence allows it.
You cannot then upload your work based on theirs unless it is uploaded as a remix.
You can’t enter a remix into the exclusive program.
