Question on bed temperature in print profile

I want to raise the bed temperature by 5 degree in one print profile to ensure good bed adhesion. However, the bed temp is set with the filament setting. The question: when a user uses the print profile to print, will the user’s build plate raise to the temperature set by me?

If you post a 3d model and in the print add custom filament settings it should carry over to other users who use this print profile however if they choose to change filament types it will change the bed temp.

Hope this helped :+1:

That’s what led to my question. The temp setting is specific to not just the type of filament, but also specific to the filament brand. So if I set the bed temp for Bambu Lab PLA Basic, and the user uses any filament other than this specific brand and type, the bed temp that I set will not be carried over.

Anyone has found a workaround or trick to this, other than telling the user to raise the bed temp by 5 degrees to ensure good bed adhesion? Some users don’t read instructions

I have never had to raise the bed temp until this profile. It probably will do fine with the default bed temp as well. But during prototyping iterations, there was one time one piece that is long and flat get some warping at one end. So I want to raise the bed temp to ensure that won’t happen.

You could add more profiles for each brand but the obvious problem with that would be it would take time and some users make not choose your preset.

Yes, that may work but would be cumbersome. I ended up modifying that piece to give it more contact area with the build plate and did a few more test prints to make sure it work at the default bed temp. Thanks all the same.

The need to set bed temp different from the default is rare (for me anyway). I will see if this situation justifies a feature request.
