Questions about Air Purification/Ventilation of the P2S

Hello everyone!

I would like to start printing in ABS or ASA filaments, but I have a couple concerns with the ventilation. I know that the external fan kit is now out for the P2S, but I was wondering:

  1. How well it works
  2. Is it good to have a filter (like a Ventobox) of some sort when venting it out, and if so, what is recommended?
  3. And lastly, do I have to worry about fumes escaping the purge chute (meaning I have to enclose it), or will I be fine and there won’t be much smell?

PS: If you have any recommendations on enclosing the purge chute, please let me know.

Hi Dominator. What I’ve done is use the Bento Box Turbo from MakerWorld, paired with the FNATR riser frame on Makers World that has the external duct. From there, I designed and built a pipe that runs from the FNATR riser, with a shroud that sits over the top of the Bento Box Turbo

I tested it yesterday by putting a VOC meter inside the P2S, turning the fan on, and introducing some smoke. It cleared the chamber in around two and a half minutes, which I’m very happy with.

I will be uploading the file when ive perected the pipe, The forum wont let me upload a picture

If you attach the vent there you are gonna mess with the printer internal temperature. Optimal would be to put it in a box as like that you will vent just the air that’s released. You have nozzle head temp, internal temp and heatbed temp
