Rate print profile issues

I was searching the forum to see if anyone else had the same issue, but I couldn’t find anything.

I have two printers, both more or less “active,” and I usually send the prints to the printer instead of printing directly. That’s because the printer might already be busy, or I need to go to where the printers are to change the filament, check the bed, or do other prep work.

The problem is that I can never leave a printer profile rating to support the designer (and for the points, of course), because it always says I need “at least one successful print.”

I printed a spray can holder ten times, but the print was never registered since I didn’t print it directly from Bambu Studio. I sent it to the printer, and then later started the print from the printer screen or the phone app by browsing the printer’s memory.

I understand they need a way to verify that someone actually printed the profile, to prevent people from farming points unfairly. But there should be an option for users like me (and I’m sure I’m not the only one) who send prints to the printer and start them later.

Also, something that’s been mentioned before: the design and the print profile should have separate rating systems. Some designers don’t even upload their own profiles, those are created by the community, so when people leave bad ratings, it’s unclear if they’re rating the model or the print profile.

You also need to be printing it using the downloaded profile, if you download a model and then use your own profiles to print it then it won’t be possible to rate the profile used, i believe you also need to have your printer connected to the cloud so that they would even know you have printed it

Thanks for the reply!. Yes, I understand that, if you are ratting a profile, should be the original profile that you print. And I do that. Its been just little cases where I modify like the infill, or the model placement (moved in another part of the printer bed so the printer works in different parts of the bed not always the center).

But, most of the time, I just open directly from the web, and I change “print” by “send”.

And yes printers are connected to the cloud.

I dont think if fair specially with the designer, that we cant leave “review” about the design if is not directly printed.

May be besides the printer profile, should be a way to rate the design itself, and “A picture is required”, so no random reviews, but real prints.

I almost never use the original profile. I’m always changing something to improve the print. Especially filler and/or top layer. Sometimes speed and temperature. I see the profile as a starting point. Many makers seem to just throw stuff out there willy-nilly. I look through every model I print. And it gets saved with my parameters. I give credit where I can but if they make it harder and harder to do, it’s going to get bypassed. :smirk:

I almost never use the supplied 3mf. I check to see what settings the uploader chose to override, and decide for myself if they seem relevant or just some ■■■■ they left in the slicer and got flushed to disk, and then use my own tuned profiles.

consequently, i bet makerworld thinks I am a bot with all these downloads and no prints /shrug
