Hi all,
I have encountered what seems to be a bug but after opening a ticket I was told that this is how the system works.
When a user activates “Read filament on insertion” option at the printer panel it will recognize Bambu filaments but NOT ONLY on insertion ![]()
This is the scenario:
I have two Polymaker ASA spools installed and defined. Later I have activated the “Read filament on insertion” option. I inserted two new PLA spools and they have the RFID they were detected.
So far no problems. Now we started printing a model with ASA. As one spool was almost empty we assumed it will switch to the second one.
To my surprise after several hours that the printer was waiting for user input I see via my handy that it is halted …
I could understand why as both ASA are the same and properly defined. I triad to disable the “Read filament on insertion” option and to my surprise the printer continue to print with the second ASA spool.
As a user I understand simple things… “Read filament on insertion” means on insertion only. Bumbo insists that it is done also during work ?
I triad to convince that if a user already inserted/installed and defined some other filaments the system should accept it as is…
I have triad to convince the support that it is counter intuitive but they insist.
If anyone else think that it is not working as it should be, maybe Bambu will change. This is my ticket:
