A friend is after a filement that has a Glass Transition Temperature of at least 120°C (248 F)
Filament has to be either red or yellow.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
I usually just mess with PETG so couldn’t recommend anything.

Google “nylon filament red.” I found some nylon available in a bunch of colors that way. I don’t want to include a link to the vendor…
Edit: Looking at the specs for a bunch of HT filaments, it looks like a TG of 248F is unattainable with filaments usable by consumer grade printers.

No mate. Has to be at least 120°C. They were specific about that temp.
Looks like a bit of an overload on requirements. Qidi’s PPS-CF prints very well on a Plus 4 but would need to be painted to match a color…
PC isn’t good enough for him, PPS-CF is worse.

I do wonder about setting Tg as a requirement though. Some PPS blends are usable well above Tg while creep can occur well below Tg. Not really a good requirement to set.

Please correct me if I’m wrong but glass transition temperature (Tg) is when the part would start to start to soften due to heat. If you wanted a part to withstand temperatures of 120°C before deforming or going softer then I thought glass transition temperature would be what to look at.

In principle, yes. But Tg is a small kink in the curve. And with an effectively limitless combination of blends, a lot is possible. So it is quite important to understand why which criterion has been set. If for example, stresses need to be maintained at temperature, this will make for interesting engineering. For example, I am aware of PPS for higher temp applications (150°C → well above Tg). On the other hand, with sufficient stress, even PEEK can creep well below its Tg.
If however the requirement is due to a rough guess as to temps inside a car or similar, many more options are available (ABS, PC,…). In particular with the design freedom available due to FDM.
Mind the FDM inherent material porosity though if they are looking for loaded parts.

The glass transition temperature of PC-CF (polycarbonate with carbon fiber) is typically around 143°C

My friend has found some filament. They have found a site that sells Polypropylene (PP) in the colours they want.
