Is there anyone else that have serious problems with Bambu Lab refill filament! First of all the vacumm packaging is really bad! By now I ordered at least 35-40kg in refill filament! 75% of these comes in a bag! It’s no longer a vacuum sealed bag! On top of that the spol look like (bad word)! Today I would guess that around 75% of all refill spools create entanglement that stops the print! It’s always on the side between the filament and the wall of the spool. The filament thread gets drawn down towards the center untill it gets stuck! That never happends with the ones bought with a spool! I prefer using Bambu Labs filament due to the RFID tag! But I’ve started to order a lot from eSun that what I can see have the same quality but are cheaper! Most of there ordinary basic PLA cost as low as 11.70 euro. In general I would say Bambu Labs filament cost abot 5 euro more! But the above metioned problen you have with eSun as well!
Anyone else with this problems? Maybe suggestiones on how to bypass the spool problem?
I usually go for the refills if available. Not only due to the price, but also because empty spools pile up quickly…
I would not do this nowadays if I hadn’t been pointed to the importance of giving the refills a really good massage after spool closure.
For my AMS 1’s, that as well as the AMS savers (long necked type) and centre spool dessiccant containers (for the weight) resolved the vast majority of my issues.
My AMS 2’s and HT can deal with well massaged spools without add-ons.
That is not to say that fundamental issues do not exist. I have had a few rolls where the central cardboard roll was really badly cut, making closure a real pain. I am also aware that others have seen badly wound rolls (which I have fortunately avoided to date).
But that hint to massage the refills before use was a lifesaver for me.

Edit: That filament entrapment at the side is exactly what the good squeeze/massage of the spool prevents (mostly). It pushes underlying strands into the gap so that top filament can not squeeze in any more.
I’ve had the complete opposite luck as you. I’ve purchased and used 50+ kg Bambu Refills in the past year and have only had trouble with 1 spool since upgrading to AMS2 Pros and HT’s. I had problems with the original AMS unit, but it wasn’t just Bambu refills; it was all kinds of spool problems.
I have probably purchased another 30kg of refills from other manufacturers and had very similar results as the Bambu Refills.
I do believe the AMS Lite is superior here; I never have problems with spools on that device. I do have a few different adapters for spool types, but that little guy just works.
My biggest issue is with anything on cardboard spools. I have had very little luck getting one to work for the entire spool. I now rip them off the cardboard and put them on Bambu, Sunlu, or eSun eSpools. Works every time. I got tired of messing with them.
I’ve been using refills exclusively for a long time. I’ve never had any problems, but of course that doesn’t mean that others don’t. However, I am always very careful: I check that the package has arrived undamaged. When changing the refill, I prefer to check twice. Even after all this time, I still follow the instructions exactly.
Empty spools are also periodically checked to ensure they are locking properly.
However, the statement about the bags came as a surprise to me. The filament rolls have always been vacuum-packed for me, including recent orders. Can only be opened by cutting, tightly vacuum sealed. (EU warehouse)
Can you take a photo of what these bags look like? Am I correct in assuming that you ordered directly from Bambu?
After 6 weeks at sea and god knows how long in storage in unknown conditions, the only safe assumption is that new rolls are saturated. Getting into the habit of drying every roll after opening helps a lot.
