Refill size bigger?

A year ago I designed my own refill spool with some success and the reviews have been largely positive ever since:

But just in the last month I got more and more feedback that the spools didn’t close or wouldn’t fit anymore. Either they can’t get them to lock or with a lot of force they can but then the spool is bulging out so much that it doesn’t fit the AMS anymore. Most of the reviews are still raving but the increase of occasional issues has me worried:

I have just mounted an old refill on a new print and it twists together just fine but as I said, I do not have a very recent refill that I can test.

Has anyone else noticed that the refills have become wider or that the tolerances have become more sloppy? (I suspect the latter since most reviews are still positive)

If the spools increased in size, wouldn’t they also not fit the bambu oem spools?

You’d think that, but today I received this rather strange message:

So I’m back on being suspicious about a minor size increase. Still 95% of the feedback is positive but the negative experience feedback has increased a lot recently, which is strange, right?

I haven’t purchased a refill spool from Bambu is a while, so I wouldn’t have a newer one to measure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Bambu changed their refill spool sizes slightly and didn’t inform anyone.
