I imported a 3mf from makerworld (Everdell Tree | Colored | AMS - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld) into Bambu Studio. It contains text on its surface, which is english unfortunately. I need it to be editable. Unfortunately the text is not a Bambu Studio Text-element but designed into the object. It is extruded though and can easily be removed via negative part. The problem is: How do I “save” it with the removed parts so I can add new text where the removed text was?
Select the group object and then export as one STL.
Then he asks you if he should perform the operation. You have to confirm this, then you can save it and continue using it:
Afterwards, you can open the new stl file again in Bambu Studio.
Looking at the model, the top leaves object is 2 parts merged so first select it, right click and split.
Go to the objects view and select the one with the text.
Then click the CUT button or press ‘C’ adjust the cut height to eliminate the text and click to just keep the lower part of the cut.
You may need to use Fix Model to tidy up any damaged manifold objects if it complains
Does not work unfortunately, gives me an error: “Unable to perform boolean operation on model meshes. You may fix the meshes and try again. Reason: Part Top_leaves_2color.stl has self intersection.” I don’t know what that means… I also don’t understand why I can’t remove anything from this specific object with another primitive and a boolean operation. It completely ignores boolean operations!
No, it can’t be split. Gives me an error.
Is that what you had in mind? I tried to fix it, but the model seems to be damaged, so it didn’t work with boolean operation. I did a workaround with cutting. You can still move the individual parts; I have separated them.

Usually, you can correct the model clicking on “fix model” when an error message appears, but that doesn’t seem to be working on this model.
