Replace 0.4 nozzle only not hot end

I have bought some replacement hot ends for my P1P and they come with two spanners and a number of nozzles. { despite what 99% of youtube says a nozzle is a small thing with a hole in it, not a big lump of heat sink adorned with wires}.

the nozzles have a hex shape exterior which fits one one spanners and the other spanner fits the hot end. Now try as I may I just can not get the two things to screw apart. Am I just being a wimp and must apply even more torque { which I don’t think my puny hads can do!) or have I missed some thing.

It would seem it’s just a screw thread but its got me beat!

You have a picture? The hotend is one piece and doesn’t come apart.

Have you tried heating it up? That may help.

in situ or by some external heat i.e. on thework bench ?

OEM hotends do come as screw in nozzles. my hot end came with 2,4,6,and 0.8 screw in inserts.

Did you buy them from Bambu Lab?

The reference to spanner’s suggests you didn’t.

Bambu Lab sells either a hot end or a complete hot end for the P1 series.

Each available in several sizes from 0.2mm to 0.8mm.

Third-party nozzles are fine (usually), but you need to share which you bought and from where.

If the nozzles screw in, it is not a Bambu hot end.

Bambu (OEM) nozzles for the X1 and P1 series are pressed into the heat sink and are a unit. The nozzle does not unscrew, and if separated from the heat sink, the nozzle cannot be reliably re-inserted.

And to add to that, In my opinion, uniting nozzle, heatbreak and heatsink in a single unit was a smart design choice by BambuLab, eliminating many shortcomings of screw-in nozzles and is one key aspect for achieving the current performance and reliability.
If you look elsewhere, E3D did a very similar thing with the Revo nozzle system. Prusa has a similar approach with the Nextruder system.
They both didn’t integrate the heatsink, but the key is integration of nozzle, heatbreak and cold side in a single unit without seams and gaps.
I think, Ultimaker was the first to integrate all critical hotend components with print cores for the Ultimaker 3.

All those companies took that step for a good reason. screw-in nozzles simply are technically inferior regarding performance and especially reliability.
If you want to go back, feel free. I have been using the same nozzle for > 1000 hours, so I really don’t feel like accepting the drawbacks to save 13 bucks for replacing a worn nozzle. I have added a 0,2mm and 0,6mm complete hotend for easy swapping, which really vanishes in cost compared to the other consumables.

When nozzles were made from pure brass, swapping was a regular maintenance operation. With more resistant materials, this just isn’t necessary very often anymore.
