Replacement AMS feeder motors available?

Is it possible to buy these replacement motors without having to buy the whole unit? I need to refresh my AMS and have recently changed the main motor, but it feels like the 4x feeder motors struggle to keep in sync

Yes, the Bambu Lab wiki shows you exactly how and the Bambu Lab site has them right in the store.

Depending on the AMS, if it’s the first one then the feeders are under spare parts for AMS. Same for AMS 2. They’re $7 for the funnels which is all you need. The motors last quite awhile. However you cannot get them separately. The motors are in the Feeder assembly that you can buy, but they’re $30 something and currently sold out in the US store. I just ordered 2 funnels, they’re an easy swap.

Yeah already done my funnels, but I don’t fancy paying over £120 for 4x assemblies. Thought maybe someone had sourced the motors separately so I could save some money. Oh well

I doubt it’s the motors. Look in the assembly for debris. I have well over 11,000 hours on my AMS and have never faced an issue with the motors. Either a gear is broken, the drive thing is worn, or debris has entered the funnel. That motor only feeds down and from the hub. They really don’t do much.
YMMV. My 2 cents.

Ah so they disengage once the main motor takes over? That’s good to know. Reason I was investigating is because I had some desiccant packs explode and leaked liquid all over my main AMS motor which made it die a slow death until I changed it couple weeks ago. I thought maybe I’d put too much strain on the feeder motors in the meantime. Cheers for clearing that up

Sure thing. If you ever want to test, cut your filament as it’s feeding down. You can then push the new end into the funnel and it won’t be fed. You can continue to push down to the hub and it’ll bite and take over.
Found out while swapping in a new spool. If the end get’s far enough down the feeder will kick in looking for some more filament. I think that’s even past the hub.

Not sure if you could help, but I have a recurring issue with slot 3 where if I try and feed a filament in it will take in a few cm in then start making a noise as if it’s jammed and won’t do the full load cycle and won’t read the NFC information. BUUUT, if I just leave it in there, choose a print and select slot 3 it will load in fine and even load/retract for multicolour stuff. Have you ever had this problem?

No, I haven’t had that problem. The biggest issue I’ve had with single slots is failure to pull the filament back or a worn roller. I’ve replaced feeders and whole feeder assemblies thinking it would fix the problem but didn’t.

That’s a new one on me. Sounds like it’s the feeder, but intermittent? That I don’t know. Will have to think on it, or someone else may chime in that’s had the problem.

I’ve had the same issues with the filament not pulling back out after a print. It usually only happens with PLA Glow and fine with other filaments. Since I changed the main AMS motor it seems to have solved it though (touch wood). Before that I changed all the feeders inlets and the extruder filament sensor and that didn’t fix it.

I might have to take apart the slot 3 feeder assembly again and make sure everything is seated properly.
