Hi, so while disassembling my AMS to get out a broken filament I accidentally tore one of the cables out of its conenctor. Specifically the 4-pin cable connecting the mainboard and the odometer.
Now Bambu Lab offers a 5in1 replacement cable set AMS Cable Pack (5-in-1) | Bambu Lab US Store that has a 4-pin cable in it, but the connector looks different to my original cable. Plus the store page never specifically mentions the odometer.
Does anyone here have any idea whether the cable from the set will fit? If it doesn’t, where can I get one? I feel like I’ve searched everywhere now.
Hi, thanks! Done that a few days ago, but so far they only got back to me with a request to submit my order number, serial nubmer etc. to get a warranty replacement. I do not seek that - I’ve had the printer for two years now so it is out of warranty anyways, I bought from a local re-seller, not Bambu and besides I’ve done the harm by my own clumsiness. I only need the replacement and I’ll gladly buy one as long as it doesn’t mean buying a whole new AMS. I’ve escalated the ticket and I guess I’ll wait for another reply from them.
Anyways the connector looks like a JST, perhaps SH, but I’m out of town rn so I can’t measure the pin pitch) but the shell is indeed different from any other I’ve seen so far.
I’m not sure the shop picture is right. In the wiki for the 5-in-1 set I think the speed measurement cable is really like the one you’re looking for eventhough the pictures are a little blurry
when it comes to the cables you should ask the support if you are not 100% sure
if the cable fit but the ratings dont fit
either it does not work or the cable breaks or something else inside the AMS breaks
If still looking for a replacement, adafruit(dot)com sells cables with those connectors under the name Stemma. There’s others too if you still need a source.
Note - these apparently do not mate with the Bambu stuff.
I received an answer from Bambu that the cable is indeed in the set. I ordered and it fits!
I made some better photos, ran them through reverse image search again and voilà - they’re not JST, nor Stemma. They’re Molex 15134 connectors. Who’da thunk it? The same Molex we all know and love from the old platter HDD days makes these tiny buggers too.

STEMMA is an interface standard that uses JST (Japan Solderless Terminal) connectors. STEMMA describes the electrical characteristics -and- the connector. I was trying to point you to the premade cables that Adafruit sells under the STEMMA name.
But digging deeper, it turns out JST doesn’t mate with the MOLEX connectors even though they look extremely close.
