Replacing the chamber fan with a 12V Noctua

If anything that is blocking airflow will cause noise please explain any kind of muffler or silencer

They all block airflow to some extent and LOWER the noise

As opposed to a noise-inducing grille, a muffler is a deep passage. That explain it?

I’m looking into this (looking into all of the fans - not sure I’ll replace them but I’m checking it out). The stock chamber fan is DD9225S24M-P 24V, 0.25A, 6W, 92x25 mm, 4800 rpm, 92.56 CFM (157.26 m³/h). Noctua doesn’t have any 92 mm 24V model and their 12V models are half that CFM at best. But there are obviously other brands.

Same goes for the Aux fan BTW. Noctua has 24V alternatives but he stock fan is 12W while Noctua’s are 4.32W at best. They don’t even come near.

Has anyone tried to measure if the 120mm fan will fit in the space? It’s pretty easy to model the printable holder to fit a 120mm fan. If it fits, a 24v 120mm Noctua will push 122 CFM at 29 db. That’s 25% more air moved at 1/3rd the noise, likely at a lower wattage. And the best part… no buck converter to wire up and mount because it is a 24v fan.

That is a very good point! I assume it wont fit (or they’d probably have used one) but I will look into that for sure!

Any updates here?

Just got my P1S and the chamber fan is so loud, even on 50%! Just looking at replacement options now.

Noctua 92mm fan and a buck converter is the easiest route.

@just4memike did you end up installing it? I just need to know if it physically fits before ordering the parts and making a printable mount for it. My noctua mc board fan works great but I wasn’t able to find a good and quiet chamber fan for it. I ended up connecting w wholesale suppliers from china and found 2 good fan options but both wanted a min quantity of either 3 or 5 on a fan that was almost 20$ a piece so I ended up not buying them. If there is anybody here living in Germany and willing to split the cost and want quieter chamber fans, hit me up

Sorry, it was never a problem that bothered me that much. Just wasn’t worth opening it up and spending time on it. I even have a buck converter and a Noctua 92mm that I didn’t keep on because it was worth more to me to have it configured normal. The fan noise just wasn’t the largest concern.
