Request for bambustudio to remove supports in filament view - preview!

hello noticed inside the preview tab when filament is selected u cant remove supports….
it would really be helpful to remove them to see if everything is colored correctly!

for example on my pictures i would like to see if the eyes are colored and sliced correctly!

u can remove them when line type is selected but thats not so helpfull if u want to see the colors…

You could slice it with supports turned off to verify?

In the line type preview, click the “Support” to remove the check mark:

As you change to different previews, support will be omitted until you go back to either the line type or (unfortunately) the Filament preview.
However, instead of the Filament preview, the Summary preview shows pretty much the same.

i know but i dont wanna go back and forth.. would make sense in my option to have it there…

And do you then also want a toggle for Support Transition and Support Interface?

You have been given 2 very simple solutions to be able to verify the colors, which is basically your use case.
The on/off switching of supports might be a bit more time consuming if it needs more time to calculate, but basically if you slice without support, and see its correct, and then enable support, the next slice only slices the supports. So not too much time lost.

The option given by @EnoTheThracian doesn’t even require you to play with support, so that is even easier and faster.

But somehow you insist on getting it in as an option because you don’t want to go back and forth.

I understand the workarounds and I already use them!
My point is not that it’s impossible — it’s about workflow and preview clarity.

When checking multi-color alignment, switching supports on/off or changing view modes repeatedly breaks the visual context and costs time, especially on larger plates.

A simple visibility toggle in filament view would make color verification faster and more intuitive without affecting those who don’t need it.

So this is more a UX/preview suggestion than a “how do I solve it” question.

some of my files take 5 minutes to slice depending on how dense the mesh is i wouldnt have requested if it didnt bother me!

I rarely use github but I read that issues/bug reports/feature requests are more likely to be picked-up by the dev team if reported there.

To me, the reappearance of the support visuals after disabling them in the “line type” preview and then switching to the “filament” preview does feel like a bug.
