When using the CUSTOMIZE function (parametric model generation from Fusion), I encountered an unpleasant limitation (problem) – insufficient options for setting the print profile. If I am not mistaken, currently only a few parameters can be set, such as generator type (Arachne/classic), number of walls, infill type, etc.
BUT… it is definitely not possible to set everything that is necessary – for example, it is not possible to set the filament type, print speed, and others (for illustration, I have a model that requires PETG and a low print speed), but the generator automatically adds PLA and sets standard/default high print speed, which is “totally off” for the given model. Similarly, many other parameters that may be key to successful printing are unavailable.
The user then has only two options - either print the model as generated (which is wrong), or manually import the print profile (from the main one) themselves… which is also not good, because it is inconvenient work, and moreover, for some users, beyond their capabilities.
Proposal: I think it would be better to solve the parameter settings differently - by importing from the Main Print Profile of the model → in addition to the Customize function, the model will contain one (main) normal print profile in which designer can set everything as needed. And the generator will import these settings “from A to Z”… it will only add new generated STL to the created 3MF. This would ensure that the generated model has everything necessary for successful printing according to the author’s requirements/ideas.
