Request: Search filter for "No AMS Required"

Many creators take the extra time and effort to make multi color models that do not require an AMS. Some of us do not have an AMS. It would be beneficial for both groups to have a search filter for ‘no AMS required’.

This could be a box for the creator to check when uploading their model. This would make the filter more robust due to consistent nomenclature.

You can already filter by tag

https://makerworld.com/en/models/search?keyword=tag:%20no%20ams

Just find a model with the tag you want and click it

That relies on people tagging things correctly. How many models are going to be missed using that method.

And the same would apply to people ticking the option during upload of a model, so its not like its going to end up being a better option

It would also mean the option wouldn’t work at all for legacy models, whereas this does, so you’re better off encouraging people to tag correctly

No. Because print profiles are already labeled if they are AMS or not.

You don’t need to check a box during upload if they are able to filter based on the print profile. There should be no problem doing this retroactively.

Correct tagging is always a good thing. BUT historically that will never happen due to human nature AND the search system is not specific enough.

Assuming that works 100% of the time then sure, issue is, it doesn’t so its not really going to cover every model, and given there would be no way to manually force that setting you end up with lists where you have models that don’t need an AMS being listed as needing one and vice versa

How?

Where are you getting that from? How is someone supposed to trick a AMS print profile to think it is a non AMS profile?

Instead, I’d much rather that they update makerworld so that the print profile shows how many filment changes each profile requires and also how much of the filament used is poop/support/tower waste.

Some of the very lazy multi-color prints waste a shocking amount of filament, people might think twice if they realized so much of their filament was going into the garbage.

I have models of my own, multiple infact, that incorrectly list them as requiring an AMS, i’ve not looked specifically for any AMS ones that are flagged as non-AMS but the fact that you’re going to fill up the AMS search with models that don’t need it is already enough to make this no better than the tag system as it means the automated tagging is unreliable

I wish it flagged it in Bambu Studio when you sliced the model. Big red warning signs with how much filament you’re turning into waste.

Thank you for the tip.
