It would be great to have a widget on my home screen that told me the status of my printer and my print rather than having to open the app.
This is needed. The widget should display the progress status for the last 2 or 3 prints which will finish the soonest, on all the printers associated with your Handy app.
For some people that’s just one print… for a lot of people it’s multiple prints… one widget should be able to display multiple printer progress on the basis of which will finish soonest.
There’s already a widget feature on iOS:
Android doesn’t have one yet, but since this request is already years old, I’m sure there won’t be much happening in that regard anymore.
In your case, I would take a look at the many open-source tools that are available. That would probably make more sense in your context: Monitor multiple printers simultaneously.
There are also some that are optimized for dsiplaying on mobile phones.
