I haven’t used my X1C in a couple of weeks,
when I had a firmware update.
The GUI on the touch screen of the printer looks totally different now, since that update
(It has more of a 3d-vibe now).
But also since that update, I have an error message which says that there is something inconsistent and that I need to reset to factory settings.
When I want to do so, it gives me a popup that tells me that I should first put the plate in its home position.
The problem is, I cannot move the plate. The buttons to center the plate no longer seem to work.
So, is it safe to perform the reset? And if not, what are my options?
I am totally stuck here.
It’s tempting to just go ahead and do the reset.
But I fear that I will damage the printer if I do so.
Current firmware version: 01.09.00.01

Are you using the actual Home icon in the center?
@lkraus
Yes, that’s the button I used. But it does absolutely nothing in this situation.
But also tried other buttons: none of these movement buttons work right now.
There’s no movement and no noise, it’s also not that it’s jammed or anything.
It seems like the command just isn’t executed.
I have the printer for roughly a year now, had none of these problems ever before. It was pretty much perfect before this firmware upgrade.
I’m mostly worried about what would happen if I did the reset without homing the plates. I fear that it would wrongfully assume the current position as the top position, and then move the plate down as it configures, to a point where it would try to move it beyond its limit, and damage itself.
However, I don’t see any other option right now.
Wondering if anybody ever did a reset without actually homing the plate?
Hi, did you reslove this as I have the same problem. This happened after the latest firmware update 01.09.00.01
I did the same with my X1C. The tray came in the wrong place. This now makes it dangerous.
I ended up doing the factory reset after all.
Nothing was damaged.
Was I lucky? - Maybe, not sure.
