A way to load the filament? You could load them manually but that defeats the whole purpose of an Automatic Material System. There will also be an issue as the system won’t see an actual AMS on the bus.

The hub doesn’t load filament. It only acts as a gateway to add additional AMS’s. Plugging an AMS hub into a printer doesn’t “trick” it into thinking it has an AMS attached.
so the question was how to do it not to find 1000 ways how to not do it.

or another way what I would need to buy to build my own AMS which will speak to my H2D?
as far as i understand it, this by far is not an AMS and cant be one. It will just pull the Filament back onto the spool after you manually tell it to do so (not controlled by the Printer). The AMS does that automatically and also the other way around. Since the firmware is closed, i dont see a way to self create a working AMS. I think if you want an AMS, you have to buy an AMS.
Even Python AMS etc. just use regular AMS parts.
Ok, so first you’re going to need to put the retracting spool holder in your favorite CAD software. Turn the mesh back in to a format that you can work with. Now take out all the retracting mechanism and duplicate the spool holder so it can hold 4 spools. Add a location for an AMS main board, power board, 4 first stage feeder motors and one internal hub. Oh and 4 RFID readers and an AMS connector board. Now buy an AMS and swap all the parts over.
If you don’t want to do all that but are dead set on building your own AMS there are a couple of projects out there already. They are Python and Hydra.
I’d just buy and use an AMS… but how boring is that?
