Having an issue with Makerworld and Bambu support. They have removed 2200+ points from my account stating that I needed to link to a model for the remix. This was a model that I downloaded from the generator then created my own spacer to print a stack. They can’t tell me what what link should have been used. Can anyone in here, that has a profile that uses multiboard, fill me in on a link to use. I used the License page as a link because there is no “Original model” to link to when using the generator.
You haven’t provided a link to the model in question, so this is a guess.
This makes me think you used one of the many MakerLab tools.
If so, you are required to follow the licence it provides.
This is the requirements from the Flexi Toy Maker.
This one is from the use of the Parametric Tool.
The first example requires attribution, the second requires both attribution and to be correctly marked as a remix.
Thought that was what I did. Remix then linked to Multiboard license. Maybe I misunderstand the “attribution” requirement. It was a spacer that I generated from a parametric to help stack them. PLA to PETG. Never took credit for the 9x9, even labeled the model as Multiboard Spacer for stacking. Multi-material easy separation. I have since removed my other models and spent all my points before they try to take anymore.
This requires some clarification, to use their tool and/or not have your points taken away you need to follow their rules, which might include rules about what attribution the output has. In particular, for the flexi tool you only need to worry about the attribution on makerworld (because they might take your points away), you are free to post it elsewhere without that attribution.
Note the output of these makerworld tools don’t intrinsically have any restrictions on them, someone could take your model from makerworld, strip any notices/remix/license you attach and post it to makeronline.
edit: Add some clarification, OP wasn’t using the makerworld tools
It wasn’t one of their tools. It was the multiboard.io generator. I generated a 9x9 then downloaded it. They want me to link to an original model. There is no original model, that I am aware of, to link to.
As written in their license
you must enter the references from this link
https://www.multiboard.io/license#appropriate-credit
read what you need to write under your published project
then open a ticket to makerworld and ask if you can get your points back
It requires no clarification.
Suggesting theft by locating them elsewhere isn’t a suitable addition to the post. It is off topic and suggests theft by choosing not to provide any attribution is the best solution.
Such suggestions should be ignored as bad faith.
So, reading this Multiboard’s License:
You must give appropriate credit, and provide a link to the license. We also encourage you to indicate the modifications you made.
And
- Appropriate Credit — Accreditation that includes Keep Making’s name, and a link to the Platform, presented in a way that does not imply endorsement by the licensor.
Seems I did what they ask. I named the profile " 9x9 Multiboard stacks PETG Spacer" and Linked to the license. This Kept the name as required by “Keep Making’s name” and a link to the license as required by the “and provide a link to the license.” Heck even the “suggestion” part was covered. “We also encourage you to indicate the modifications you made.” was in the title petg spacers.
So, I don’t know what else I am missing.
Ah ok thanks for the clarification.
Here is the only license I could find. I don’t see the generator mentioned, and absent that it would be understandable that people would assume they are unrestricted. But I’m assuming this is simply an oversight on their part.

This is for their files on thangs, but yours was from their generator, right? They should clarify that.
I have no idea what you are going on about. Attribution of what? There is nothing to attribute, if there is any ownership at all the output of makerworld tools is yours (or someone else’s if you started with their image), but never theirs and you can do with it as you like. That includes reposting it without “attribution”.
But If you don’t want your points taken away I wouldn’t do that on makerworld.
So, for future reference. This is the reply I recieved from Makerworld when I showed that I followed Licensing requirements of MultiBoard. Just use it as a heads up before you post anything from Multiboard. They do not recognize Multiboard’s licensing requirments. Be forwarned.
"After consulting with the relevant team, we would like to let you know that the current model licensing system does not support the Multiboard License. The team is still evaluating the possibility of including this license type in the future, and we kindly ask for your understanding.
In the meantime, we suggest that you locate the original model link for the model you are remixing.
Thank you for your understanding and support."
