Tried a number of suggestions from Gemini but none could solve the problem of the ripples shown in photo. Anyone know what the cause might be and more importantly how to correct it. Printer is P2S, 0.04 and plain PLA.
Welcome to the forum.
The picture shows that the surface isn’t flat. It has a slight slope and thus the slicer has to “step” layers to produce the slope.
Lowering the layer height can lessen the “Step” but I would make sure the model is sitting flat on the build plate.
Here is the wiki article that explains what it happening and how to use variable layer height to mitigate the issue.
OrcaSlicer v2.4.0-Alpha has a new option to help reduce this sort of stair-stepping. I’ve not tried it yet, but it does look promising. The layers will still be visible, but the surface should be smoother.
