So i was wondering, if i dry my PLA do i even need to rotate the spool anymore? and how would it work if i print PLA while drying and having additional PLA spools in my AMS 2 Pro?
I do not trust printing while drying in the same AMS.
The filament can slightly soften, or heat more quickly in the nozzle (coming in hotter) leading to increased chance of print problems or quality loss.
I personally think it was one of the things that marketing quickly latched onto (“Their AMS is dumb, it can’t print and dry at once! Our _MS can!”) and people have come to believe.
To be fair it probably works most of the time - and is likely reliable in an “industrial” grade printer - but when a print fails on a consumer machine, I do wonder what fraction of those failed prints comes from printing with warm filament.
