I need help to understand why in random spots of my prints the surface is very rough. Printing with PLA, had no issues for many prints… but now I am having issues. Moisture level from AMS shows 1 to 2, no higher. Any help would be appreciated.
PLA does not really much drying but it sure looks like a moisture problem on those walls.
Unless you are like me and print with insane speeds of 400mm/s or more…

The AMS might show a 1 or a 2 for humidity, but that doesn’t mean the filament isn’t already loaded with water.

Or insane line widths with the wrong size nozzle. I’ve tried 0.8 lines with a 0.4 and it works, but at great quality cost.

@Lou - would you recommend using the filament dryer function on the printer itself or get/make something else?
Okay, I guess it’s not the line widths. I have no idea. I’ll try and help some other way, then.
I’ve never used the printer as a dryer. I have a Sunlu S4, it seems to do okay.
If you can afford it, something dedicated is better, it should be faster than using the printer. And it might be annoying having printer down time because you need it to dry filament.
As far as what to get, there’s a few threads here about that topic, and certainly others with more experience than I who can give more recommendations.
