So I decided to update the firmware on two of my X1C units - now I don’t know if this is a red herring that I’m chasing but now when the bed moves up and down, there’s this rubbing noise (see video)
I’m going to attempt to see if I could remove the back and see if there’s any stuck filament poop - back there - But I just find it odd that both of them are now making the noise after upgrading the firmware and I have done nothing differently.
These are fairly new printers. I’d only got them a few months ago and they don’t have many print hours on them.
Here is a video
I decided to run the calibration process while I made this post. I will update if anything’s changed after it finishes.
I just find it so odd that both of my printers are doing this at the same time. How was that even possible? They haven’t even been used that much - my other one that I have for over a year is not even doing this.
I took off the belt, disconnected the two spindle screws and then reassembled everything and the noise just stopped. Perhaps there was some debris on the gear teeth? Either way the noise stopped. Marking as a solution to check the under the carriage and inspect the gears and belts.
