Running Diamondback Nozzle in P1S

I’ve spent a lot of money on a lot of my hobbies, but I can’t bring myself to spend nearly $200 for a Diamondback Revo (have the panda revo).

I’ll live through those of you that do.

Never did purchase a Revo diamondback but I have purchased the E3D Bambu Diamondback today. I’m reeling from spending but it is what it is.

Will provide feedback if anyone is interested.

I am interested in your experiences with the E3D DB.

I don’t know really what to tell you other than it’s almost transparent to me.

It heats and holds temp well, handles every filament thrown at it, and it has an improved flow rate that’s not quite inline with the HF obxidian but morethan a standard nozzle.

I appreciate it for what it is, and what it represents to me. I don’t need to be concerned about the nozzle as far as wear or temps. Very nice prints from it with little to no “tweaking”.

Same experience with the Obx high flow .6…. Moving to the HF and .4->.6 at the same time basically doubled the volumetric flow… I get 30+ on many filaments and it’s rare the print head can accelerate to even take advantage!

Sorry, bit new to the X1 Carbon and am fuzzy on some of the details…

  • Which type of nozzle? V6?
  • Is it possible to run the diamond nozzle without changing the hotend?
  • Given we’re into the next year, is it possible there are other hotends you may have tried or might recommend?

You have two choices for a Diamondback, both will require a hotend swap. One is very easy and official, the other is easy but not official in any way.

Official Nozzle.

Diamondbacks are pricey, and this isn’t any different. Plug and play, just tweak a few settings. Stock thermistor, fan, heating element.

Unofficial

Uses the Revo nozzles from E3D of which there is a Diamondback version. Mostly plug and play but some things to keep in mind.
It does not use the stock heating element or thermistor. These are expensive to replace, and the heater is rated over what BL says is recommended. (60w vs 40w). One benefit of this option is somewhat quicker nozzle swaps. However nozzles aren’t cheap, and if you damage your printer with it, most likely warranty won’t cover it.
Oh, and BTT support sucks, so there’s that.

Another Unofficial option are these AliExpress nozzles.


Cant get the link to work, but a search for P1S or X1C nozzles will find them.
I am not that versed in these, so I can’t swear they will accept a Diamondback. I think this thread contains info from users of this nozzle.

I haven’t been so impressed by these, but to each their own.
