I am quite new to the hobby and started calibrating all my filament. I noticed quickly that K-Values for some reason seem to be saved on the printer and that my printer P1S can only manage 16 K-Values. That does not make sense to me, or did I understand something wrong? Why can I save flow ratio in the filament, but not K-Value? It’s frustrating that I can’t save any more custom K-Values… What’s even more frustrating is that they still are bound to specific filaments, so I can’t just create a “global” k-value for every filament which I can just select in the ams settings, but if I add a new filament it does not have access to that setting, because if I manually create a new K-Value I have to select the filaments for it (and can’t edit it afterwards, which is also a huge usability-issue)… Why can’t we just save the k-values in the filament, like the flow ratio? Am I missing something?

I’ve read answers to that query since I had the same frustration. Apparently, that’s the way it is. Orca slicer does it differently but then you have the cons of being slightly at odds with Bambu specific settings, lan only dev mode

Found a solution which lets you write the k-value into the gcode of a filament. Basically the same thing OrcaSlicer does, but without the fancy ui-input-field for that… Not as nice to use, but still a solution. Still frustrating that such a basic feature is being implemented in such a wrong way by Bambu…
