Screen freezes

It seems my screen freezes when I am printing. It has happened 2 times in 1 or 2 weeks on the same printer. It just happened a few minutes ago.

It starts priring without issue, I come back to the machine and the screen is frozen. It continues to print without issues. Its just the screen stays frozen, does not update layer lines nor can you touch it.

Have you tried replacing your SD card? A failing card can cause issues like this.

I’m having this same issue consistently since the last firmware update. Print also finishes just fine and I can control the printer from the Handy app, but the screen doesn’t respond to any touch and just shows the downloading dialog.

I had the same symptoms and opened a support ticket. Bambu Lab asked me to replace my µSD card, but that didn’t solve the problem if I copied the files from the old card to the new one. Upon taking a closer look at the contents, I noticed a cache folder containing over 700 files. After deleting it, everything went back to normal, and my printer is working perfectly again.

i assume you needed to connect the SD card to your PC to do it. I dont think it can be done from the printer?

If you format the card via the printer interface it will clear the card. None of the files on the card are required for the printer to operate.

I’m not sure if this is available for the A series but with the other Bambu printers you can Download or Delete a print from the SD card via you computer over the network using Bambu Studio. You don’t have to remove the card. This is accessed via the Device/Storage tab and by mousing over the part.

You can do that even an A1 but you can’t delete a directory…

i just did a sd card format on my A1 that was having issues. did it on the printer itself. hopefully this resolves the issue
