Hello, Im printing a funnel with generic PETG filament and the print prints/looks really good BUT the seam is horrible, it protrudes as in if you rub your hand on the seam you can feel the bump. I changed the outside rows speed from stock 200 to 150 And am currently printing another funnel so I’m not sure if that helped out is there any advice or settings I can look at to get rid of this bump.
Given only this picture, you might want to consider enabling Scarf Seams. All the angles shown in this pic would do well with scarf, and it will help mask the bump, but youll still have a different and minor visual appearance.
Alternatively, you can try increasing the “seam gap” under process → quality, and/or altering your wipe settings in filament → overrides. Increasing seam gap a little bit can help if “both sides of the seams midpoint” seem to be overlapping in the middle and creating a large bump.
It may also be pressure advance related / too fast - you mentioned petg @ 200, which is fast for non-hs petg, and in general the faster you go the better you must have your pressure advance/k factor dialed in. If you have other pics that might help discern that
I actually include a bump (or a channel) on the outside of my funnels. It allows air to escape, so material flows into the container faster. A perfectly round funnel seals too tightly in a bottle neck; nothing goes in because air cannot get out.
Yes mine is on the inside…. Here is the new print with slower outer but as you see the line is visible but I don’t know how it feels or if it protrudes until the print is done in about another hour…
