(Cross-posted to See Object Colors while Painting Fuzzy Skin · Issue #10611 · bambulab/BambuStudio · GitHub)
When using the Fuzzy Skin Painting tool, the object currently defaults to a monochromatic white preview, with purple highlighting the fuzzy application. This creates a significant workflow hurdle for multi-color projects:
-
Visibility Gap: There is no functional way to see the underlying filament color transitions while the tool is active. This makes it impossible to accurately align the “fuzziness” with specific aesthetic features (such as the transition from a goose’s body to its beak).
-
Workflow Friction: Users are forced to toggle repeatedly between the Prepare view and the Fuzzy Skin tool, or slice the model just to verify if the texture alignment is correct.
-
Color-Based Logic: There is a missed opportunity for a “Fuzzy by Color” feature. It would be a major efficiency gain to be able to toggle fuzzy skin globally for specific filament slots—for example, automatically enabling it for the “White” filament (body) while strictly excluding “Orange” (feet/beak) and “Black” (eyes).
Proposed Solution: Add a “Show Filament Colors” toggle within the painting interface and a “Apply to Filament #” selection in the fuzzy skin settings to allow for precise, color-aware texture mapping.
I attached some screenshots of a goose I’m working on. A goose obviously has hair on its body, but not on its beak or feet. I want to paint fuzzy skin only on the white body, and not the orange beak & feet.
