Selling laser upgrade kit question

So I got the 10w laser upgrade kit in January and installed on my H2D, and have really liked it. So I told myself that if the 40w ever goes on sale for under $700 I was going to grab it.

Enter the Easter flash sale…

The upgrade kit (the whole thing) with the 40w went on sale for $680. So I grabbed it. Note that the 40w by itself is still $980. So now I have a 40w laser on its way, as well as a complete upgrade kit that I have zero use for.

I am not a fan of selling on eBay or Marketplace…just more trouble than it’s worth.

Does anyone have suggestions of where I might be able to sell the kit without the laser that caters more to the maker community?

Wait for the end of the sale. Here in Europe the full 10W kit is discounted at €334. The laser by itself is not available at discount but retails for €269. So unless you’re ready to sell at less than €65 (or the $ equivalent), nobody will purchase while the sale is on.

Definitely good advice thanks! I think it’s going be a while until it gets here. The laser module itself should be here in a couple days but I think the kit will be a week or more.

Then I gotta figure out how to sell it…

You may already know but I think the 10w produces slightly sharper results. Depending on what you’re doing, it could be worth holding on to both.

Besides cutting through material faster and cutting material that is thicker, I’m not sure what the 40W would bring to my party. I’m doing just doing engraving and zero cutting so far and the 10W laser is doing fine so far. I guess you could sell the kit to someone for $200 with the used 10W laser head, but then you lose the sharper results.

I don’t think OP wants to sell any laser just the rest of the kit

I already have the 10w…and yes it does a great job with detail. I wanted the 40w in addition, so that’s why I wound up buying the kit (which was MUCH cheaper than buying the 40w module alone due to the flash sale). But now I have the kit (doors/cam/pump/etc.) that I don’t need. That’s what I’m looking to sell. I will keep both the 10w and 40w laser module.

Definitely keeping both. I’m getting the 40w so I can cut thicker material mainly. The 10w will definitely be the go to for anything needing detail.

Not sure who would buy the upgrade kit unless the laser module by itself gets cost reduced a bunch. I guess you are left with a spares kit. I was looking at the differences between the 10W and 40W and the product sheet say it can cut thin stainless steel .05 mm .1mm respectively. The Wiki says nada to cutting any metal. All I’ve read says these lasers can’t cut any thickness of metal. I’m tempted but like the vortek, I’m better keep the $ in my wallet.

Unfortunately Bambu’s got me by the wallet! They put it out, and I get it pretty much. I’ve got the X1C, A1, H2D (now with laser!), and H2C. The only reason I haven’t added a P2S is that divorce would be too expensive!

But your point is well taken and part of what I’m thinking. I don’t know that anyone will want the kit without a laser module. I will probably try to put it out there really cheap to a point where it would make sense for someone to pick this up and then get the laser module separately. It’s really not about the money (and it was still a huge save off of the price of the 40w alone), it’s more getting it out of my basement and in the hands of someone that could use it really.

If I remember it was also a pretty big box. LOL I’m run out of room for spares.

I can’t see a big market for a kit without the laser. maybe one or two of the parts might sell individually - despite your reservations I would personally try ebay.

I think though the ideal solution is to get another h2d or C to put the 2nd kit on

You may be “forced” to buy another basic printer and use the upgrade kit on it. Then you will be “stuck” with a dedicated 40W and 10W. The sacrifices we make…

Edit: lol see UKdavewood beat me too it

I have a H2C and the H2D upgraded to a laser, but I rather dedicate one printer for laser stuff. Next upgrade I’m waiting for is the Filament Track Switch module.

Are you a divorce lawyer?!?!? If I did that those services will definitely be required!!!

So I guess Bambu made the same pricing error on the US site that it made on the EU’s. Good you managed to grab it before it corrected the price…

If you are still selling the 10w kit (complete) I am in the market for $420 (price I missed out on yesterday). Let me know!

Thanks! But I’m planning on keeping both the 10w and 40w. The 10 is great for detail. Unfortunately I’m just looking to rid myself of the upgrade “guts”!

Actually I can get the laser itself from microcenter so I’m still quite interested in the green panels and birdseye camera etc. how much would the guts be? Can you ship or are near Boston MA by chance? Thanks!!

Hi,

Any chance these guts are still available for sale? I could go to my local microcenter today and pick up the 10w laser, if so. I would need the bed, birdseye camera, green panels, estop button, etc. The laser is currently $299 at microcenter so I have a reasonable budget for the rest of the kit. Let me know, I’d rather not wait for BL shipping and just missed the big sale.
